Ohio DODD Presentation: CMS Response Regarding Conflict of Interest

On June 23, 2015, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) released this presentation about the federal Medicaid conflict of interest rules and a recent approval by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of DODD's plans to bring Ohio's system into compliance. Historically, Ohio's Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) for people with developmental disabilities have been provided by the county boards of developmental disabilities. The county boards provided both case management and direct services, which CMS said was a conflict of interest. DODD asked for a waiver to implement a conflict-free system . . .
