California DDS Letter To Regional Centers Regarding Budget Changes For 2013-2014

The memo from the California Department of Developmental Services informs the state's 21 Regional Centers that oversee provision of developmental services about the specifics of a provision in CaliforniaÂ’s 2013-2014 budget affecting how the centers handle consumers covered by commercial health insurance. Previously the regional centers could provide financial assistance to insured consumers to cover copayments and coinsurances. The regional centers will no longer be allowed to pay any portion of a consumerÂ’s health insurance deductible and will only pay co-pays and co-insurance for insured families and adult consumers whose incomes . . .
