CMS Letter To Tennessee Regarding Medicaid & CHIP Enrollment Concerns

In this letter dated June 27, 2014  to the Tennessee Medicaid agency, TennCare, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) expressed concern about delays in determinations on Medicaid applications. CMS informed state officials that TennCare had not met six of seven Medicaid access factors required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).  CMS formally requested that within 10 days TennCare provide a detailed description of how and when the state will achieve compliance with requirements of the streamlined eligibility and enrollment process . . .
