Florida House Bill 709 of 2014; Alzheimer’s Disease
The legislation was signed into law on June 18, 2014; the provisions go into effect on July 1, 2014. The provisions focus on improving Florida's resonse to the needs of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. It requires the Florida Department of Emergency Management (DEM) to develop and maintain a special needs shelter registration program by a specified date.
