Bjergaard The Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a federal lawsuit in North Dakota against the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch (DBGR) and the State of North Dakota to challenge state funding of faith-based organizations that provide social services. The lawsuit claims that, by referring youth and funding, DBGR activities the state and county have endorsed a faith-based approach to social services, in violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution that forbids government to promote the establishment of religion . . .
