Illinois Behavioral Health Transformation 1115 Medicaid Demonstration

On July 2, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services approved this Illinois behavioral health Transformation 1115 Medicaid demonstration. It extends three authorities from the state's original 2018 demonstration including addiction disorder treatment for people residing in an institution for mental diseases, addiction case management, and supported employment services. The extension provides new authorities to reimburse for services to address health-related social needs, violence prevention, and intervention. The state will also introduce a new initiative to provide pre-release services for eligible incarcerated individuals for up to 90 days prior to release . . .
