Massachusetts Senate Bill 2764: An Act Relative to Rates for Human & Social Service Programs
June 23, 2008 The bill proposes that the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services set human service contract reimbursement rates on the actual cost of providing the services. The rate setting process would take into account the following factors: Costs of government mandates  Inflation since the rates were last adjusted in 1987  Geographic wage differences in metropolitan statistical areas of the commonwealth If passed by the Massachusetts Legislature, the rate setting process would begin in 2009 and would be gradually implemented through 2011. Currently, the state's social service contracts are renewed at the 1987 reimbursement rates . . .
