The federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services proposed rule presents changes to Medicare payment policies for hospital outpatient services. Topics include bundled services, rates for partial psychiatric hospitalization programs, hospital outpatient quality reporting, therapy caps on services provided by critical access hospitals, and incident services. CMS is accepting comments on some proposals. The rule will be finalized in time for the rates and policies to go into effect on January 1, 2014.
