Delaware Senate Bill No. 313: An Act To Amend Titles 16 & 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Protection Of Nonprofit Acute Care Hospitals

Delaware enacted legislation, Senate Bill 313, that places a moratorium on private equity acquisition or majority control of non-profit acute care hospitals. The moratorium went into effect on July 20, 2026, when it was signed, and runs through July 1, 2028. Delaware has eight community hospitals that are operated by six non-profit health systems.
