Pennsylvania House Bill 1150: Autism Insurance Reform Legislation

July 2008 Pennsylvania House Bill 1150 took effect on July 9, 2008 and provides autism insurance reform legislation. The new law provides $36,000 a year for applied behavior analysis and other necessary treatments. The law requires health insurance policies and the medical assistance programs to cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism disorders in individuals up to age 21 with no lifetime cap or limit on the number of patient visits.
