Georgia Proposal for Differentiated Accountability
May 2, 2008 As part of the United States' No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Legislation, six states were chosen to join the Differentiated Accountability Pilot Program, a program designed for states to bring all schools up to NCLB standards by 2014. Georgia was one of those states. The program began July 1, 2008, as all states were required to begin their program immediately after being chosen. Georgia's plan increases the availability of supplemental education services (SES) to students with low incomes in schools that need improvement.
