The Ohio Model of Differentiated Accountability
June 26, 2008 As part of the United States' No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Legislation, six states were chosen to join the Differentiated Accountability Pilot Program, a program designed for states to bring all schools up to NCLB standards by 2014. Ohio was one of those states. The program began July 1, 2008, as all states were required to begin their program immediately after being chosen. Ohio's plan will look more closely at how many and which groups did not meet adequate yearly progress (AYP) standards in each district instead of focusing on the number of years the district . . .
