This document dated August 20, 2015 is a letter signed by 130 non-profit human and social service organizations requesting that the White House direct the U.S. Attorney General to reconsider a 2007 interpretation of whether the Religious Freedom Restoration Act permits faith-based federal grantees to impose religious criteria when hiring employees to deliver the grant-funded services. The 2007 interpretation generally permitted faith-based organizations to impose religious criteria on such hires.
