On August 21, 2012, a class action lawsuit was filed regarding Wisconsin state cuts to long term care providers for individuals with developmental disabilities. The lawsuit, Amundson, Michael et al. v. Wisconsin Department of Health Services, was filed on behalf of 17 families of individuals with developmental disabilities. The lawsuit alleges regional manged care organizations, such as Community Health Partnership and Northern Bridges, have made such drastic cuts in reimbursement rates that providers are being forced to notify numerous residents they will be discharged from the homes where they live.
