The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s memo provides background on its process for handling protective services investigations for adults with disabilities, in preparation of procuring an agency to investigate protective services reports and provide necessary services. The document provides a description of how allegations of abuse, neglect, abandonment, or exploitation will be handled until the contracted agencies are in place. The anticipated date for the new agencies is July 1, 2014.
