On August 27, 2020, a lawsuit was filed against the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) over a decision to stop requiring states to collect data about tribal children and lesbian, gay and bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth over age 14 in foster care.
