County Of Suffolk v. Purdue Pharma, et al.
On August 31, 2016, the New York State Supreme Court filed this complaint alleging that the pharmaceutical companies intentionally used marketing to create a false perception that opioid medications could be safely prescribed without risk of addiction. The allegations of the complaint are based on the structure of litigation filed by 46 state attorneys general in the 1990s against the four largest tobacco companies seeking recovery of tobacco-related Medicaid health care costs . . .
