September 1, 2008 This is the first of two volumes that report the findings of a study that investigated the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in New York City. The study included interviews with 249 youth involved in commercial sexual exploitation. It was conducted to make estimates of the size of the population and provide a reliable and ethnographically rich description of the characteristics, experiences, and service needs of the local CSEC population.
