A Study for Re-Establishment of a Department on Aging in Accordance With Connecticut Public Act 05-280

March 2008 The State of Connecticut will re-establish a cabinet-level Department of Aging, which had been abolished in 1993. The legislation reauthorizing the department called for research on effective department structures. A research team from the Southern Connecticut State University conducted interviews at all levels of state and local agencies. A predominant theme focused on developing a strong, independent, feasible and affordable Department on Aging.
