Home Health Agencies Failed To Report Over Half Of Falls With Major Injury & Hospitalization Among Their Medicare Patients
On September 5, 2023, the U.S. Deparment of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) published this report which found that home health agencies (HHAs) failed to report over half of falls with major inury and hospitalization among their Medicare consumers. Among Medicare home health consumers hospitalized for falls with major injury, over half of the falls were not reported on consumer assessments by HHAs as required.
