State of Texas v. Janssen, L.P.
November 30, 2006 The lawsuit was filed in Texas district court in Travis County by Allen Jones, a former employee of the Pennsylvania Inspector Generals Office. Mr. Jones filed the lawsuit in 2004 alleging that during an investigation in Pennsylvania he uncovered evidence that Janssen had promoted Risperdal in Texas by offering policymakers trips, travel expenses, speaking fees, and other forms of improper compensation. The lawsuit also charges that Janssen orchestrated continuing education programs, speakers' bureaus, advisory boards, and trade publications to serve primarily as marketing tools rather than sources of accurate information about the medication . . .
