Indiana DCS Presentation On New Approach To Mental Health Services For Children

The Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) described plans for a pilot program that will provide mental health treatment to uninsured children with mental illness who are not eligible for Medicaid without placing the child into foster care or referral from the juvenile justice system. Previously, families seeking state-funded mental health services for an uninsured child not eligible for Medicaid were required to relinquish custody of the child before services could be provided.
