Department Of Labor Final Rule: Application Of The Fair Labor Standards Act To Domestic Service

On September 17, 2013, the federal Department of Labor finalized rules to require that organizations providing direct home care services pay minimum wage to employees such as home health aides, personal care aides, and certified nursing assistants. The rules go into effect as of January 15, 2015. Approximately two million home care workers will be affected.
