The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) launched the Enhanced Eligibility Verification Project, as part of the Illinois Medicaid Redetermination Project (IMRP), to clear a several-year backlog of annual eligibility redeterminations and to comply with a 2012 legislative mandate to improve its processes to ensure that eligibility for Medicaid benefits is verified on an annual basis.
