Ohio State House Passes Bill (HB 213) on Foster Caregiver Fingerprint Database
May 8, 2007 On May 8, 2007, Ohio State Representative Jeff Wagner introduced a bill to clarify when a court must order a potential foster parent to be fingerprinted and to establish a retained applicant fingerprint database in order to improve foster parent background checks. The bill also mandates the director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to convene a work group to advise him on following the provisions of the act.
