The Massachusetts Department of Correction sought proposals for two components of prison health care (medical and mental health) and was willing to split the contract with two vendors. Proposals were due by January 3, 2013. On March 15, 2013, the Massachusetts Department of Correction awarded a contract for comprehensive prison medical and mental health services to the Massachusetts Partnership of Correctional Health Care (MPCH), a subsidiary of Centurion LLC, which is a joint venture formed by Centene Corporation and MHM Services Inc.
