The document was released on October 1, 2025, by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) about updates to Medicare coverage of telehealth policy. As of October 1, 2025, for most telehealth services Medicare policy related to in-home and audio-only services reverted back to its policies prior to March 2020 when the COVID-19 public health emergency began and Medicare offered many flexibilities that expanded access to telehealth services.
