Connecticut DSS Settlement in Raymond v. Rowland
September 10, 2007 On September 10, 2007, the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) reached a settlement in the case of Raymond v. Rowland. The DSS will take steps to ensure residents with disabilities have access to cash, food stamps, and medical subsistence benefits available to them. The DSS will also provide additional accommodations to people with disabilities in navigating and passing the agency's eligibility processes. The settlement was a resolution of the 2003 class action lawsuit, Lori Raymond et al. V. John Rowlands, governor and Patricia Wilson-Coker, commissioner of the DSS.
