Florida’s Medically Needy Program Proposed 1115 Research and Demonstration Waiver

On November 26, 2012, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration submitted a 1115 Medicaid Medically Needy Waiver application to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services seeking approval to implement a premium requirement for the Medically Needy population. The requirement is part of the state’s plan to implement mandatory Medicaid managed care statewide, which was directed by the 2011 legislature.
