Medicaid Program; Self-Directed Personal Assistance Services Program State Plan Option (Cash and Counseling); Final Rule
October 3, 2008 This final rule from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will allow some Medicaid beneficiaries to direct their own personal assistance services beginning on November 3, 2008. The rule provides guidance to states that want to implement the Cash and Counseling program, which would allow Medicaid beneficiaries needing help with activities of daily living to hire, direct, train, and/or fire their own personal care workers.
