Minnesota Senate File 2324: Minnesota Health Care Act
May 19, 2007 This bill would establish a statewide, single-payer health care system. The bill's sponsors seek to move all responsibility for health care to the state. In addition to primary and preventive care, the proposed plan would provide the following: Complete mental health services  Chemical dependency treatment  Prescription drugs  Medical equipment and supplies  Dental care  Long-term care  Home care services The goal of the legislation is to reduce the costs of untreated illness and reduce the number of people in the state without health insurance.
