On May 27, 2014, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded funding to Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) for research initiatives to develop implanted devices to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other neurological and psychiatric disorders.
