November 1, 2011 Researchers with UPenn, the University of Sciences in Philadelphia, and the Research & Evaluation Services of Los Angeles County examined the outcomes of youth who age-out of or otherwise depart Los Angeles CountyÂ’s child welfare supervised foster care system and/or juvenile probation system. This study also gives attention to their outcomes across a variety of public programs to show the relationship and impact across a number of adult domains including the educational, occupational, health, mental health, criminal justice and public welfare systems.
