The 2012 Point-in-Time Estimate of Homelessness: Volume 1 of the 2012 Annual Homeless Assessment Report

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development has released volume 1 of the 2012 annual homeless assessment report. The report found that homelessness among veterans in Los Angeles City and County dropped by 21.6% between January 2011 and January 2012, from 8,131 to 6,371. In 2012, Los Angeles, California had the largest number of homeless veterans, accounting for 21% percent of homeless veterans in major cities, and more than ten percent of homeless veterans in the U.S.
