In October 2013, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the latest in a series of annual Medicaid long term services and supports (LTSS) expenditure reports. The data come primarily from CMS-64 reports, which states use to document total Medicaid spending and claim federal matching funds. The CMS-64 data are supplemented with managed care data collected directly from states that have managed LTSS programs.
