Virginia Medicaid Mental Health Skill Building Services Fact Sheet
On December 1, 2013, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) implemented new eligibility criteria for Medicaid mental health skill-building services (formerly called mental health support services) and is planning to implement new rates in July 2014. Mental health skill-building services (MHSS) are a non-traditional behavioral health service covered on a fee-for-service (FFS) basis.
