November 11, 2011 On November 11, 2011, attorneys with NORML sued the federal government to challenge the legality of federal prosecution of medical marijuana growers and dispensaries legally operating within state laws. The plaintiffs seek a temporary restraining order preventing the Justice Department from further action against businesses and individuals involved in state-authorized medical marijuana distribution.
