October 29, 2008 On October 27, 2008, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approved the Supports and Comprehensive Medicaid waivers submitted by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Both waivers make changes to the Community Alternatives Program for Persons with Mental Retardation/ Developmental Disabilities (CAP-MR/DD) Medicaid program. The waiver services are intended to help individuals with disabilities live and work in integrated settings and to improve outcome-based quality assurance systems.
