Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Quality Payment Program Final Rule

The final rule for the 2022 Physician Fee Schedule was released on November 19, 2021. Among the provisions is a proposal to implement a new set of chronic care management codes to reimburse provider organizations managing care for an individual with just one chronic health condition requiring a specialist. Previously, care management was reimbursed only for beneficiaries with two or more chronic health conditions. See page 364 for the final rule on Medicare care management codes.
