Results from the 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health: Mental Health Findings
The National Survey on Drug Use and Health is conducted annually by the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration. The survey population is a nationally representative sample of the civilian, noninstitutionalized population over age 12 in the United States. The survey collects data about mental health symptoms, service utilization, use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco through face-to-face interviews with approximately 65,750 people aged 12 years or older nationwide, at the respondent's place of residence.
