Governors’ Request to DEA: Rulemaking Petition to Reclassify Cannabis for Medical Use from a Schedule I Controlled Substance to a Schedule II

November 30, 2011 Rhode Island Governor Lincoln D. Chafee and Washington Governor Christine O. Gregoire have petitioned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to reschedule marijuana from a Schedule I controlled substance to a Schedule 2 controlled substance.
