Psychotropic Medications Compliance Review

December 1, 2008 This review was conducted by a foster care program and field staff for 50 out-of-home foster care children receiving psychotropic medication in July of 2008. Results showed that DHS was in compliance with policy for the most part; however, case records were lacking in detailed medication logs. It was also found that children who meet the required criteria rarely receive a medication review and DHS only provided a child's health information to the foster care provider half the time. Notifications about a child's treatment also occurred less than one-third of the time . . .
