December 2008 The researchers from the National Center for Health Care Statistics sought to obtain a preliminary estimate of the percentage of physicians using electronic medical record (EMRs) in their practices. From April through August 2008, the researchers conducted a mail survey of 2,000 office-based physicians. The report has no analysis of the results. About 38.4% of office-based physicians reported using EMRs.
