Report To Congress On States’ Use Of Waivers Of Non-Safety Licensing Standards For Relative Foster Family Homes

In December 2011, Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Children’s Bureau issued a report to Congress on The Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008, Public Law (P.L.) 110-351. This report describes states' data on the number of children in foster care placed in relative foster family homes, a description and assessment of the types of non-safety licensing standards waived; and States' strategies for increasing licensing among relative caregivers. This report summarizes the responses of the 50 States, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.
