Minnesota Governor’s Veterans Long-Term Care Advisory Commission Report

November 19, 2007 In response to several investigations of the Minneapolis Veterans home, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty created the Veterans Long-Term Care Advisory Commission. In order to improve care for veterans, the commission's report suggested several changes including: improved governance, strengthened leadership, updated hardware and software, restructuring of budgets, and coordination of care. As a result of this report, Governor Pawlenty reorganized the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve operations at its five veterans' homes facilities . . .
