December, 2007 "Several Integrated Care Program (ICP) states are interested in obtaining information from Special Needs Plans (SNPs) on Medicare services they provide that may overlap with Medicaid services, and on the assumptions SNPs are making with respect to the cost sharing payments they expect to receive from or on behalf of dual eligible beneficiaries. With this information, states will be in a better position to identify and avoid potential cost shifting from Medicare to Medicaid, and make capitated Medicaid payments to SNPs for beneficiary cost sharing and acute and long-term-care Medicaid services . . .
