The document was released on December 8, 2022, by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) within the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It presents the most recent update federal plan to address Alzheimer's disease. The plan has six key goals:

Identifying effective treatments and preventive interventions for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD)
Enhancing the quality of care Expanding supports for people with ADRD and their caregivers
Expanding public awareness Improving data and measurement
Reducing the risk of developing ADRD by promoting healthy aging
