‘AHCCCS Works’ Arizona Medicaid 1115 Waiver Amendment Request

On December 19, 2017, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) submitted this Medicaid 1115 waiver amendment request to add work or community engagement requirements and a five-year maximum lifetime benefit limit for a portion of the Medicaid population. The amendment is called “AHCCCS Works.” The provisions are intended to provide low-income, able-bodied adults ages 19 to 55 with the tools needed to gain and maintain meaningful employment, job training, and education.
