The Kentucky Office of the Auditor conducted an independent examination on certain policies, financial transactions, and other activities of Bluegrass.org (formerly Bluegrass Mental Health and Mental Retardation) and its subsidiary organizations, including the for-profit Bluegrass New Directions, Inc. (New Directions). The examination was conducted in response to news media reports and anonymous concerns presented to the auditorÂ’s office regarding certain Bluegrass financial transactions and policies. The period under review spanned January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. The auditor reported eight primary findings and made multiple recommendations.
