Juvenile Arrests 2009

As a part of its Juvenile Offenders and Victims National Report Series, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention published its December 2011 Bulletin which summarizes the crimes known to police and juvenile arrests made during the 2009 reporting year. The authors use data from FBIÂ’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) to character the extent and nature of juvenile crime in the justice system. As included in the bulletin, juvenile arrests for violent offenses declined by 10% between 2008 and 2009 while, the overall juvenile arrests also fell 9%.
